Week 12
Area- Serdan
Companion- Hermana Lopez

Pues, este semana es cambios, pero no se preocupan porque I am still in Serdan for another transfer because I need to finish my training, but the other two hermanas are closing their area and both transfering, along with our district leader, so we are headed to Puebla tomorrow for those.
This week was insanely quick and crazy! We had our Hawaii activity this week which was sooo much work, but soooo fun!
What happened was when people arrived we took them to the "airplane" and we had this sweet video of a flight instruction and take off. After the video they landed in Hawaii and we took them to another room which had a huuuuge mural that Sebastian drew for us, it was incredible, i will try to attach a picture. After an hour or so of games and dancing and lots of screaming children we took them back to the plane to head home, but in the second video there was a storm and they crashed and everyone died. Then we took everyone to different rooms and explained each kingdom of Heaven, we had a room for each reino, it was sooo great! After the lessons we had hawaiian haystacks and the mujeres jovenes performed a hawaiian dance. This was suuuuch a great activity because it brought us and the members much closer because we needed their help for much of the things and it was great for our work, all but one of our progressing investigators came!
Speaking of progressing investigators, we have a baptism this week for Selene, our 9 year old golden girl! Please pray for her and her family. Tambien, we have another 9 year old, Victoria, who was supposed to be baptized 3 weeks ago, but her father and step father both don´t want her to be baptized. we have a new date in Julio for her, but if you could keep her in your prayers please do, she wants to be baptized, just needs permission so we are going to work with her family almost every day until her baptism.
Funny story and miracle story about Hawaii, I was in the kitchen with Hna Fonseca the whole time making the hawaiian haystacks and we had prepared food for about 150 200 people and we had at least 250 show up, so there was no way we were going to have enough food, so we said a prayer that we would have enough and what ended up happening was that we had EXTRA! This was seriously a miracle, it was incredible, God really loves his children. So, we had a bunch of extra pineapple left over so Elder Rodriquez said to me we could just serve it in cups out of our tiki hut, so we thought that was an awesome idea. not. hahaha. I have never been so terrified of children, once I handed out one cup, all these kids swarmed the hut "PIIIIIIIIIÑÑÑÑÑÑÑÑAAAAAAA!!!!" oh my goodness hahahaha they were tooo funny!
So this week the inside of my mouth was pretty much perfect, no joke! The Lord loves his missionaries and takes greate care of them, I believe I am on the mend!
Love you all so much!
Please read these scriptures, they helped me soooo much this week. we talked about this alot with our members, if you have a weapon, something holding you back, let it go, remember Christ. We all have weapons to lay down and thanks to the Atonement we can all be better and better everyday!
Mosiah 27:25-26 marvel not that all mankind must be born again, changed from carnal and fallen to righteousness, being REDEEMED, becoming SONS and DAUGHTERS of God, new creatures
Alma 23:6-7 You will NEVER fall away if you remember Christ and believe him. Lay down your weapons of war
Enos 1:26I am rejoicing in this work about that of the world

Hawaiian Activity at Church

The District!

Milagros, Noche de Hogar, y Numeros‏

Week 11
Area- Serdan
Companion- Hermana Lopez

"So here we have the burden of those called to bear the messianic message. In addition to teaching, encouraging, and cheering people on (that is the pleasant part of discipleship), from time to time these same messangers are called upon to worry, to warn, and sometimes just to weep (that is the painful part of discipleship)" Jeffrey R Holland

This quote pretty much sums up my week perfectly. Our numbers were terrible this week, for many reasons I will explain later, but we did have many miracles.

First I´ll start with something funny. So in our district we have a couple people leaving for home pretty soon so they have shown interest in loosing weight. Also, with all the food we consume we all want to stay in shape, so this week we made a goal to start working out every morning, so we found a workout video and our goal is to see who can loose the most weight, the elders or sisters. Well, The video is Insanity.... hahahaha. It is fun and torture all at the same time hahaha!
The other day we were with the Elders in the park and Elder Rodriquez was telling us about one of his favorite moves, the power jumps, and so he demonstrated so we knew what he was talking about and as he jumped you heard a rip and we just busted out laughing. The whole back side of his pants ripped, right in the middle of the park, so we had to run to a members house to get them fixed, we were dying.
So our numbers were really terrible this week for a couple reasons. First, our Hawaii activity is this next week, so we had to do alot of planning, which meant less work in the field. Also, on Friday night Hermana Fonseca got two wisdom teeth pulled because they were bothering her and on Saturday she was spitting out all kinds of blood, like almost throwing it up, so Hermana Lopez took her back to the doctor while Hermana Lowe and I with the Elders filled out our monthly forms and then after I stayed home with Hna Fonseca all day while Hermana Lowe and Lopez went to visit the other Hermanas citas, so our numbers for those days were non existant. We also went to Puebla one day because the last week when we had a meeting with the President he was asking for suggestions on how to help the future American Sisters, so I said it would have been helpful to talk about how to have a weekly planning session in English because Im sure we missed alot of details in trying to learn from our companions in Spanish. Well, I guess he liked the idea because this week we returned, all the americans, and we learned about planning in english hahaha.
When we returned home on Saturday after we did nothing Hna Lopez and I were pretty crushed, so we cried together and sang hymns and prayed and I said the longest, probably most sincere prayers in spanish that I ever have outloud, it was incredible. Even though we had a horrible week numberwise we had some amazing things happen that we had to remember.
First, Fernanda. Fernanda is the mother of Victoria, our 9 year old that was supposed to be baptized two weeks ago but her dad doesn´t want her to so it has yet to happen. Well, we had a noche de hogar (family home evening) with them and Fernanda LOVED IT. She had never done one before, and she said she wanted to do more. Even more miraculous was that I taught the whole lesson and she liked it! hahaha. I drew with the kids and we talked about faith being like a seed and what things we need to help our faith grow, just like a seed needs certain things. I brought nothing up about baptism, and when I asked Victoria to share her testimony about faith she TALKED ABOUT BAPTISM, which is HUGE because for the past couple weeks she has been hesitant! We were so excited! We have a new date for her to be baptized on the 15th with Selene, our golden 9 year old, we love her to death.
The other miracle, im convinced it was a miracle, was Guadalupe Mendosa. We had 2 contacts that we tried to visit one day. The first had a bad address and the second wasnt home. As we were near the second house we saw a lady and so I quickly invited her to our Hawaii activity, just expecting a quick street contact and she said she knew Hna Fonseca along with some other missionaries and immediately invited us into her home. First note, we NEVER walk this street. Second, it was literally the perfect place at the perfect time because someone told us that our first contact might be down another street but Hna Lopez said lets go down and try to find the other instead. Anyway, we walked to her house with her and she just spilled everything, how alone she feels, she has no family, she had an accident so her leg is huge and it hurts all the time, her son died young, just burst into tears. We gave her a book of mormon and promised her that she could see her son again and that we were her friends. We told her a bit about what we do and that we can´t feel what she feels, but that her savior can. She was so grateful and though she said she couldn´t come to church this week she said that if she finds something worth going to her leg can´t stop her. I feel like she has been prepared perfectly for us, it was truely a miracle how we met her.
Anyway, Spanish is coming, yesterday I struggled to understand during church, but when we did studies with a member hna lopez shared ether 12:27 and it made me feel so much better, but other than that I am understanding and speaking more and more. I love contacting, hna lopez thinks i only like it because of all the pills im taking so she thinks im ¨happy¨hahaha also she tells alot of people, so I have my story nailed in spanish now haha
Thought this week was a little rough I have been blessed so much and I learned so much this week. I am grateful for the opportunity to repent and become better each day because of my Savior, Jesus Christ.
Love you all so much!
